This Week at Woodshed - October 13th

What a glorious October we are having! 

The tomato harvest keeps coming, along with bushels of beans, sweet peppers, and herbs. The kitchen is full of inspiration and beauty as we shift gears from late Summer into our new Autumn menu.

This week the shop will feature a seasonally inspired squash and sage lasagne made with stunning heritage squash grown just down the road. These gorgeous squash are rich, decadent, and perfect for lasagne!

We picked up a couple of extra turkeys from Byron Farm on Thanksgiving weekend, so we have a lovely organic turkey soup on the stove today. Pure autumn comfort food. 

We're also serving our Italian-style meatballs with red sauce, boeuf bourguignon, and our Middle-eastern-inspired Moussaka. All are made with gorgeous grass-fed beef.

We've just started harvesting the new kale plants from our garden. We've made a lovely Tuscan White Bean and Kale soup that is so good this time of year. We also made rich and aromatic Greek Red Lentil soup with fresh rosemary and excellent olive oil. And because this time of year we always crave lentils, we have French Lentil and Vegetable soup, loaded with local onions, carrots, celery, and herbs.

Of course, the shop will be stocked with our favorite seasonal salads this week and loads of desserts!
